Waygu Angus Cross Beef

What is Wagyu Angus Cross?

Wagyu-Angus cross beef, also known as "Wangus," is a breed created by crossing Wagyu and Black Angus cattle. This cross aims to combine the desirable traits of both breeds: Wagyu's excellent marbling and tenderness, and Angus's consistent quality and flavor. The resulting beef is known for being exceptionally tender and flavorful due to the higher marbling content. 

Differences & Benefits

  • Wagyu cattle are renowned for their high degree of marbling, which contributes to the meat's buttery richness and melt-in-your-mouth texture. 

  • Black Angus cattle are known for their consistent quality, rich flavor, and tenderness. 

  • By crossing these two breeds, breeders aim to produce beef that combines the best of both worlds: Wagyu's marbling and Angus's overall quality. 

  • The resulting beef typically has a higher marbling content than Angus beef, leading to increased tenderness and flavor. It also often has a more robust flavor profile compared to pure Wagyu.
